Apple Prepares To Offer Holiday Discounts
Apple is will be cutting prices on selected hardware by as much as 15 per cent this holiday season. Apple resellers are already advertising price cuts of up to $100 on MacBooks, price cuts not usually allowed by the company. In addition, Apple store managers have reportedly been told to match the discounts being offered on ‘Black Friday’, the day after the Thanksgiving holiday.
Traditionally Apple never discounts goods on Black Friday but in light of falling consumer spending it appears to be making an extra effort, including setting up new schemes like a 3G iPhone gift card.
Black Friday is traditionally seen as the first shopping day for Christmas gifts, with some stores opening as early as 3am and offering steep price reductions to shoppers.
