YouTube Pulls Plug on IE Support in March

Littlefish News

The IT company behind the popular Internet site YouTube decided to pull the plug on Microsoft's IT service - the 9 year old Internet Explorer 6 in March. But isn't the only old browser YouTube will stop supporting. 2005's Safari 2.x, 2006's Firefox 2.x and 2009's Chrome 3.x are among the web browsers on the black list. But, of course, the priority is Internet Explorer which was launched in 2001 by the software giant. The IT company said that "Support stops on March 13. Stopped support essentially means that some future features on YouTube will be rolled out that won't work in older browsers." Even though YouTube started warning old browser users that it would stop offering support, this is the first time it said a certain date for the action. Search giant Google started its own campaign against Internet Explorer 6 last month when it said that starting with March 1 its Google Docs online applications and its Google Sites hosting services won't support it anymore.
