Young Users Protect Their Privacy Online

Littlefish News

IT Support is needed when talking about IT security when IT connectivity users go on the Internet and have to deal with all kinds of malware. The thing is that adults think that privacy is an issue that young adults don't seem to care about. Interesting enough, according to recent data from a study by the Pew Internet & American Life Project, people that think this way are wrong. It seems that people aged 18 to 29 are more likely to be concerned about privacy than older adults. Mary Madden, a senior research specialist at Pew said that "Search engines and social media sites now play a central role in building one's identity online. Many users are learning and refining their approach as they go, changing privacy settings on profiles, customizing who can see certain updates and deleting unwanted information about them that appears online. Contrary to the popular perception that younger users embrace a laissez-faire attitude about their online reputations, young adults are often more vigilant than older adults when it comes to managing their online identities."
