AT&T Halts Selling CallVantage VOIP to New Subscribers
AT&T has decided to stop selling CallVantage VOIP to its new customers due to "capacity" issues. AT&T CallVantage was first offered in 2004 by AT&T Corp., upon the heels of its announcement that it would stop seeking traditional land-line local and long distance telephone customers. It was meant to compete with other VOIP providers, such as Vonage.

The end of CallVantage is somehow expected as AT&T wants their U-verse Voice brand to succeed the older CallVantage service. The company is reportedly undercutting their $30-$40 U-Verse Voice products in markets where U-Verse Voice was deployed. It was also speeding up AT&T's already high landline losses.
