VoiceEngine VOIP Tech License Now Available for iPhone
Global IP Solutions disclosed on Monday that GIPS VoiceEngine Mobile technology is now available for licensing to iPhone developers. Its features include allowing iPhone users to communicate thru VOIP or Voice Over IP over Wi-Fi. iPhone now uses the usual cellular voice services.
VOIP is a protocol optimized for the transmission of voice through the Internet or other packet-switched networks. It is often used abstractly to refer to the actual transmission of voice. This latter concept is also referred to as IP telephony, Internet telephony, voice over broadband, broadband telephony, and broadband phone.
GIPS made way for the iLBC codec standard. The company asserts that VoiceEngine technology has been downloaded more than any other similar engine worldwide.
