USA able to claim worlds fastest super computer for first time in two years

The US was over taken by China two years ago in thestruggle to hold the name of 'owner of the worlds fastest super computer'. The IBM Saquoia has over taken Japans K Computer- a Fujitsu design. The IT product has been designed to assist in simulations to enable the extension of the life of aging nuclear weapons. The purpose is to remove the need for real- world underground testing.IT company IBM now has built 5 of the 10 top super computers in the world. The US has three of the worlds fastest supercomputers at present- which is less than 6 months ago when they held 5 of the fastest in the world.Sequoia is 1.55 times faster than the K Computer Fujitsu model. It has been in planning since the US lost the top spot 2 years ago. The IBM model also boasts better energy efficiency than the Fujitsu model.
