A UK expert has cautioned that computer systems of utility firms and huge financial organizations remain to be the target of cybercriminals. Companies which provide UK's national infrastructure are said to be investigated with industrial espionage. Cases of political, economic and technical spying are dominating over cyber-terrorism attacks, according to Mark Oram, head of information security knowledge department at the government-backed Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI). Oram said, "We urge firms to adopt a common approach to security, to be impact driven, look at assets that support essential needs for citizens and prioritize according to criticality. Firms should focus on the vulnerability – whether it be IT security, insider threat or physical security - and be threat informed." CPNI is a government authority which provides protectve security advice to businesses and organizations across the national infrastructure in the UK. The organization aims to lessen vulnerability of the national infrastructure to terrorism and other threats.
