There have been a lot of problems with the IT security and privacy social networks such as Facebook offer to IT connectivity users that surf the Internet. Because of this type of concerns, IT company Symantec has decided to provide some tips so that users could protect their personal information as much as they can. One of the most important tips is not to share the password used to anyone, not even to a friend or spouse. Another tip would be that users should be careful with the information they share online such as videos, photos and comments posted. So, the period of time these are available on the Internet should not be too long. Also, nothing that a user doesn't want its boss or grandmother to see, should not be posted in the first place. When talking about sensitive data such as phone numbers, e-mail address, this should not be available online. Another important thing would be to ignore links that come from friends because of the fact that most of them might lead to malware. Also, "Ignore requests from people you do not know, it could be a cyber-criminal," Symantec said.
