Symantec Finds 65 Percent Hit By Cybercrime

IT Support is a constant need when it comes to the world of the Internet as IT services users have to face IT security threats every day. According to data revealed from a recent study conducted by IT company Syantec, ore than half of all adults have had to deal with cybercrime at some point. Joseph LaBrie, an associate professor of psychology at Loyola Marymount University, said that "We accept cybercrime because of a 'learned helplessness. It's like getting ripped off at a garage -- if you don't know enough about cars, you don't argue with the mechanic. People just accept a situation, even if it feels bad." Adam Palmer, Norton lead cybersecurity advisor at Symantec says that "cybercriminals purposely steal small amounts to remain undetected, but all of these add up. If you fail to report a loss, you may actually be helping the criminal stay under the radar."
