Skype to Recover from Outage

Littlefish News

IT Support was used by the team of IT engineers from the IT company behind the VoIP service, Skype, because of the fact that they experienced an outage on Thursday. The consequences of the outage were that IT connectivity users couldn't benefit from the IT service and place voice or video calls for almost 24 hours. Skype claims that the problems have been caused by computers it calls "supernodes," which act like phone directories on the IT company's  network. Peter Parkes, social media communications lead at Skype, said that the supernodes "were taken offline by a problem affecting some versions of Skype." The problem was solved by creating "mega-supernodes" to replace the ones that were down.
