Security Experts Get Competitive Salaries, Survey Says

Littlefish News

Businesses across the UK are allocating a huge chunk of their budget for security experts regardless of IT spending reduction during recession.  This was revealed in a survey, where 56 percent of those polled said they were given a pay increase in 2008.  The survey was participated by 300 members of professional groups like (ISC)2, ISACA, BCS and CREST.   Companies shell out huge amount of money on workers specializing in IT services because of the fact that a career in IT entails higher spot in an organization. The average pay othe survey participants amounted to £53,600. Around 63 percent said they get £50,000, plus bonuses from £10,000 to  £100,000.   Iain Sutherland, managing director at recruitment firm Information Security Solutions (ISS), said that companies are rather concerned with data losses than paying much to keep their system secure during troubled times.
