IT companies that provide IT security software have scared too much computer users when it comes to IT products such as anti-virus. The interesting thing is that according to a report made by Which? Computing, computers are safer than security firms would have us think, as free anti-virus software is as good as the paid one. Which? editor Sarah Kidner said that "We actually did a test... and the paid for security software comes out better than the free stuff, but free Microsoft Security Essentials scored very healthily. People don’t need to pay for it when there’s an equally adequate free solution out there."
