The first patch from IT company Microsoft contains only one fix which is in contrast with the October patch which had 13 updates. The IT security bulletin from the company said that the vulnerability damages all versions of Windows being critical on Windows 2000 and low for the others. It seems that the software giant is still working to fix a bug identified in November.
The fix is for the Denial of IT Service bug in SMB that affects Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2 by giving hackers the possibility to lock up a system. The company said that "We continue to encourage customers to follow the guidance in the advisory which outlines best practices to help protect systems against attacks that originate outside of the enterprise perimeter."
