Apple Introduces Internal University

Apple Inc. has expanded its reach in the educational market through launching "Apple University" program.

The company has employed the expertise of Joel Podolny, the most recent head of the Yale School of Management, to spearhead the program. Though Apple is keeping mum on the details of its new project, a spokesperson noted that the firm is "thrilled that he's joining our team to lead an exciting new project."

Podolny will be stepped down as dean on November 1, and remains at Yale by the end of the year. He will assume his new position in early 2009, a spokeswoman for Yale said.

Analysts believe Apple's new venture will most likely be a training campus for its employees. Others say the leading smartphone maker is building a state-of-the-art training center for iPhone and OS X programmers.  Nothing is definite as of yet, but Apple's new program will surely be instrumental in the firm's quest to retain its dominance in the electronics market.
