Seagate Threatened by Fujitsu's Move
Seagate, the world's largest HD maker, is somehow pressured by Fujitsu's plan to quit the business. Fujitsu is in the process of selling its HDD business to Western Digital, another competing hard disk manufacturer. The agreement between Fujitsu and Western Digital will result to a market share leveled to that of Seagate. Fujitsu currently holds seven percent share, while Western digital has 27 percent.
The terms of the deal were not fully disclosed as of yet, but it will most possibly be valued at ¥100 billion (£550 million). Final data is anticipated to be released by the end of this year.
