HSBC Integrates IT and Operations Head
HSBC has merged the roles of chief information officer and chief operating officer, in an effort to combine the bank's technology and customer services strategies.The move aims to promote the company's plan to advance to common computer platforms throughout the business units and region, also known as One HSBC. The integrated IT and operations manpower will consist of 100,000 out of 350,000 employees worldwide.
HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organizations in the world. The company has about 10,000 offices in 83 countries and territories in Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, the Americas, the Middle East and Africa. It erves over 128 million customers and has assets of US$ 2,354 billion as of last year.
