Marktet Researcher NPD Group recently released a data showing video game software and hardware revenues of $1.08 billion, the smallest sales growth in more than two years.
Sales generated from hardware only amounted to $395 million which is roughly 3 percent up from the previous month. Software made slightly high numbers increasing 13 percent at about $551 million.
The video game industry fared well compared to other sectors despite economic recession, but sales came up slow on August. However, forecasts for the rest of 2008 are indicating good figures in general, said NPD analyst Anita Frazier.
