Research firm, Gartner, revealed that cellphone market sales will possibly suffer due to the worlwide economic slump. Consumers face a lot of economic difficulties nowadays, that purchasing new cellphones would be at the bottom of their shopping list. Market growth is expected to slack to 11 percent from 16 percent the previous year.
Mobile phone companies are starting to feel the impact of the economic slow down. Nokia, the world’s number one phone maker, sold more than 120 million telephones and boosted its share of the market to just under 40%. Samsung had 15% of the market with 45 million units sold, shooting far ahead of the former world number two, Motorola, on 30 million.
