According to the European Commission, Europe should fully protect its networks to avoid possible attacks. The commission calls for immediate action in maintaining secure electronic communication centers and networks throughout the continent.
Viviane Reding, commissioner for information society and media, reiterated that Europe should foster public involvement in enhancing network security. Redding added, “There must be no weak links in Europe’s cybersecurity.”
EC maintains that businesses, government agencies, and the public shoud focus on matters like "preparedness and prevention, detection and response, mitigation and recovery, and international cooperation."
