The House of Lords will host a debate arguing the importance of a more constricted internet security on Friday.
Downing Street will, once again, be pressured to implement the Lord’s primary proposals outlined in August 2007 Personal Internet Security report. The House of Lords Science and Technology Committee has made a massive inquiry into personal internet security. The report centered on the threat to the future of the internet brought by cybercrimes.
One of the suggestions cited in the report is to protect the public’s use of the web by passing a bill which would guarantee that banks are liable for losses sustained by electronic scams. The committee also recommended that the government delves into the introduction of the vendors legal responsibility within the IT industry.
