IT Support was used by the team of IT engineers from Microsoft because of the fact that the IT company wants to issue an emergency fix for an IT security flaw in Windows. This move comes as the vulnerability is being exploited by attackers using a "highly virulent strain" of malware that affects the users of the IT service. As the flaw is highly critical, Mirosoft decided to publish this patch before its usual Patch Tuesday that this month should be on August 10. Christopher Budd, spokesman for the Microsoft Security Response Center, said that "We're able to confirm that, in the past few days, we've seen an increase in attempts to exploit the vulnerability. We firmly believe that releasing the update out of band is the best thing to do to help protect our customers. Sality is a highly virulent strain. It is known to infect other files, making full removal after infection challenging, copy itself to removable media, disable security and then download other malware." The versions of Windows that are affected by this are Windows 7, XP, Server 2003, Vista and Server 2008.
