Microsoft is anticipated to file legal charges against spammers who continually use the company's products in their advertising. Reports say Microsoft has employed a group, known as Microsoft's Internet Safety Enforcement Team, to team up with the Washington State Attorney General's Office in an effort to launch various lawsuits against high-profile offenders. Spammers who will most likely be centered by Microsoft's legal move are those who deploy scare tactics, duping users to launch malicious software brought by unsolicited emails. The software often used by these crooks are Microsoft products. Should the assertions be true, spammers will be incriminated for violating Washington's Computer Spyware Act. Washington's Attorney General previously held a case pertaining to the same violation. Two years back, the office successfully prosecuted Secure Computer LLC for breaching the Spyware Act.
