Web users, especially those of Mac and Windows, are now caught in another serious web attack targeting the clipboard where copied text is stored. Users are asked to follow a link that leads to a website selling fake security software. Getting rid of the link is hardly possible. Users need to reboot their computers or kill the Firefox process thread.
Computer security firms first heard of the attack through forums of a weblink that appears in the clipboard in place of text they thought they had place there. There have been a series of attacks disguised as links to download certain softwares or even masked as news bulletins. These attacks come in a much unexpected way. It is best to contact your IT support to fully ensure your computer’s security.
