The dreaded Blue Screen of Death was shown in one of Beijing Olympics stadium projector while the opening ceremony was conducted. It was not too noticeable as spectators centered on the lighting of the Olympic torch but some were able to capture the moment on video. Fortunately, the incident did not spoil the show. People were too awed with the spectacular opening.
Blue Screen of Death, also known as Blue Screen of Doom, is an error frequently displayed by certain operating systems, most particularly Microsoft Windows, after encountering a critical system error. This can cause the system to shut down to prevent damage. Bluescreens can also be caused by physical attributes such as faulty memory, main power supply voltage variance or spikes in conjunction with or magnified by power supply unit voltage rating not matching the main supply.
