VMware's Licensing Bug Blocks Virtual Servers

The newest addition to VMware's wide array of software updates has reportedly blocked corporate users from starting their virtual servers. VMware verified the error and confirmed that ESX 3.5 Update 2 and ESXi Server 3.5 Update 2 hypervisors were deeply affected.
The flaw in Update 2 was released two and a half weeks ago and hindered the virtual servers from powering up and caused the product license to expire on August 12. VMware has already hauled Update 2 from its download site last Tuesday. The company immediately notified customers who had downloaded and installed the buggy version. VMware's spokeman assured that there will be updated product bits with correct licensing to be made available for download the soonest possible time.
