Lincolnshire Council to offer IT Outsourcing contract to start 2015

Littlefish News

The Lincolnshire Council is planning to offer a pre-tenderopportunity for support services including outsourcing IT. The contract is planned to start April 2015. Government Computing- which covers news and analysis of the public sector technology published an article on the current standing of the councils plans. At present Lincolnshires IT support is managed by an external contract. In 1999 the Council signed a 487m deal with business services group Mouchel. This was extended in February 2009 to cover HR, IT, Finance, property and catering services. The Council is aware that since contracting with Mouchel things have changed and they are looking to engage with the market to find a solution which benefits their current requirements. The Council is going to launch the procurement exercise later this year. The entire contract is expected to be around the value of 100m- 150m over 5 years and it is not confirmed if it will be set up a single or multiple contracts. It is also unconfirmed it Mouchel will rebid for the contract. The Lincolnshire Council plans to gauge the reaction of the current market by holding a supplier engagement on the 11th September. They will be looking for input and feedback to ensure the contract they award provides them the best value for money.
