Jailbreaking Could Crash Transmission Towers, Apple Claims

Littlefish News

Apple has reported to the US Copyright Office that jailbreaking could harm a mobile phone’s transmission tower, allowing uncharged calls. The report was presented in contribution to the Copyright Office’s regular review of the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). The legislation prohibits people from skirting copy control systems.   Apple has been budging to refute the request of Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) to authorize alterations made on iPhone’s software. The US Copyright Office will soon make a decision over the request, which Apple is trying to sway over to its direction. Hearings for such requests are held every three years.   Apple maintains that jailbreaking violates copyright infringement laws, although no one has been put on trial for violation.
