Government Ploughs 6m Into Security Initiative

The government's Technology Strategy Board (TSB) has launched a competition inviting bids for up to £6m worth of funding, in an attempt to address the security vulnerabilities that plague modern information systems. 

"One of the biggest issues we need to predict is where the weaknesses are across networks," said Andrew Tyrer, innovation platform leader for network security at the TSB.



"It's a tough task, so we're trying to bring in people of all disciplines, not just IT support professionals, to work collaboratively on this," said Tyrer.
