IT Professionals To Do Well Amidst Economic Setbacks

Experts say  IT professionals are still facing a bright future despite the worldwide economy slow.

Though many companies are now facing financial problems and cutting down jobs, existing IT support staff can be assured  to keep their jobs as the decrease in manpower calls for double duty to those who are still employed.

John Estes, a vice president with IT staffing and consulting firm Robert Half Technology said, "As any company looks to control costs, they look to IT people to become a jack of all trades in some respects. No one in IT can truly be that, but more companies are looking to staff to have broader, more diverse skill sets."

With the recent economic crisis, a better chance for IT experts to prove their worth to the business emerges. They should be updating their skills, assume new responsibilities, and remain being a significant factor in their company's progress.

Robert Half Technology's Estes says, "IT workers can make themselves outsourcing-proof by demonstrating examples in which they could lead projects with a real ROI for the company. They should be really thinking about how this economic turmoil could impact their company and how IT could offset that."
