Pilfered Data Prices Take a Big Plunge

Pilfered Data Prices Take a Big Plunge

An investigation facilitated by the Sydney Morning Herald concluded that the cost of stolen credit and debit card data has abated to US$1.50.  Furthermore, the probe found out that nearly all internet users can purchase filched payment card information at a super low price of US$1.50 (for Australian details), and US$2.50 American and English cardholder information.

Most cybercriminals steal data through skirting security tools designed to combat fraud. This commonly happens in the United States and the United Kingdom. What's even alarming is that crooks have the capability to provide samples of stolen information, sparking more interest from potential buyers.  Among the information auctioned by cybercriminals are customer's bank account number, mother's maiden name, Social Security number, date of birth, driver's license number, as well as answers to security questions.

The internet is plagued with various types of attack nowadays. Littlefish IT support recommends that users should employ tighter security in their PCs. In addition, classified personal information should be carefully entered to legit websites.
