Japan Entices Global Mobile Tech Users

Japan will be outlining a new tack to expand its mobile technology globally with the help of Japanese carriers and manufacturers. Although the country has some of the most sophisticated cellphones in the world, delivering high-speed Internet connections, digital TV broadcasts and video downloads, its mobile products are still not doing competitively in the worldwide market. Japan is already recognized as having the world's most innovative and advanced mobile market but the nation wants to expand its reach among global users.
To start off, Japan will be pushing "wallet phone" through the global market. The technology relies on a tiny computer chip called FeliCa, embedded in each cell phone, which communicates with a reader-device at stores, train stations and vending machines for cashless payments.
