A report from the Financial Times suggested that O2 may be moving fast to keep its ground in the mobile market as talks of T-Mobile acquisition float around.
At present, O2 holds 27 percent of the UK market, but the numbers will definitely go up once the company triumphs its bid to own T-Mobile UK. Should this happen, O2 will own a whopping 40 percent of the mobile market in the UK.
Deutsche Telekom, owner of T-Mobile, announced plans of putting its UK office into auction. The firm is valued at €3bn to €4bn (£2.6bn to £3.4bn).
There are speculations that France Telecom is interested to team up with T-Mobile, which could be a threat to O2’s bid.
