The Metropolitan Police Service has just closed a deal on identity and access management with the Global Services division of BT, a UK internet service provider. With the agreement, BT will build an integrated identity and management system.
Metropolitan Police Authority chief executive Catherine Crawford said "Through this contract, we aim to enhance security and risk management, as well as introduce more efficient IT processes and new ways of working at the Metropolitan Police."
Met is operating under the jurisdiction of The Metropolitan Police Authority. A few months back, Met released a tender for 80,000 smartcards and 35,000 smartcard readers, a move to enhance its identity and access management systems.
