Hackers Eye on Online Card Readers

Hackers Eye on Online Card Readers Steven Murdoch, a member of an academic research team at Cambridge University, revealed online card reader could very well be the next target of internet criminals. Though bank card scanners are 100 percent safe, criminals have all the time and resources to come up with a workaround.

Murdoch also claims the one thing that’s keeping cyber crooks from exploiting the tool is the lack of people using it.

"The criminals are not targeting these users now, but will in the future when more banks roll out the units. If they want to break it, they are capable of finding the weaknesses, but right now there are easier targets," Murdoch added.
