AMD Set to Divulge Netbook Plans in November

AMD is slated to uncover its product approach on netbooks at an analyst meeting in November.

The netbook market is showing positive revenues, particularly because of the release of Intel's cut-rate Atom processor. AMD plans to jump into the netbook bandwagon hoping to beat the odds in the global financial crisis.

Dirk Meyer, AMD's president and CEO said, "We do have strategies together with our OEMs for pushing our solutions both down into smaller form factors and lower notebook price points." AMD has stayed mum on its plans to join in the netbook industry and instead, opted to lay out its product strategy in the November analyst meeting.

AMD is American multinational semiconductor company which develops computer processors and related technologies for commercial and consumer markets. Its main products include microprocessors, motherboard chipsets, embedded processors and graphics processors for servers, workstations and personal computers, and processor technologies for handheld devices, digital television, and game consoles.
