Windows XP still Opted by New PC Buyers
Windows XP still Opted by New PC Buyers
According to data from the exo.performance.network, about 33% of new pc buyers consider downgrading to Windows XP as they find it more reliable than Microsoft's latest Windows Vista. Last June 30, Microsoft decided to stop selling Windows XP licenses which pushed users to find other means just to get rid of Vista. Hence, Vista adoption came generally low.Vista has always been the target of much criticism and negative press due to high system requirements, its more restrictive licensing terms, the inclusion of a number of new digital rights management technologies aimed at restricting the copying of protected digital media, lack of compatibility with certain pre-Vista hardware and software, and the number of authorization prompts for User Account Control. As a result of these and other issues, Windows Vista has seen adoption and satisfaction rates lower than Windows XP.
