The IT Support for Internet Explorer 6 will be dropped by the IT company behind the popular social networking IT service Facebook when it comes to its instant messaging software. This move comes as a lot of websites want to get rid of the ancient browser. Facebook said that the reason for this is that it wants its IT engineers to make Facebook Chat more reliable. The company said that "The biggest improvements come from changes that aren't supported on older web browsers. After evaluating the alternatives, we've decided to make rapid improvements and provide the best Chat experience possible, which means we will no longer support Internet Explorer 6 browsers." However, the browser is still widely used especially by the government and large corporations that have applications that are dependent on the legacy browser.
