The drop in PC sales this quarter is a concern as the global market has only just stared to show signs of gradual recovery. IT companies proving PCs such as Dell and HPO have shown the largest loss- 18% and 19% respectively. This slowdown in the West has not been balanced out by the growth of the market in counties such as India and China, though sales here are still increasing.AMD has also been affected by the reduced sales- they have highlighted several IT service problems which could be affecting this- economic uncertainty, the rise of mobile devices, the dollar's strength and the upcoming release of Windows 8.
