Consumers will then be asked to pay a processing fee of $3,200, and the scammers will even send a fake check worth $4,500 in each winning envelope. Supposed `winners` will also be asked to contact a claims agents who will collect sensitive financial information.Verizon has denied any involvement in the phony sweepstakes. The company recommends that consumers should file a report with the United States Postal Inspection if they receive letters associated to the scam.
