The leading competitors of Intel have joined forces to ensure higher levels of IT security are met within their chipsets.AMD is going to licence the use of an ARM based processor within its x86- based CPU and GPU, the function being an increased safeguard for actions such as online payments. There are plans for the new chipset to be used in the superthin laptops consumers can expect in 2013.IT company ARM says that this is also an important step towards a consistent user environment. IfIT products such as mobile devices and tablets are going to be used for the same function as laptops then it makes sense for the same security technology to be built into them. Analysts are saying this step could be important in moving towards an important relationship. AMD states however the use of the ARM processor does not mean it is no longer going to be using and investing in its x86 architecture.
