Wi-Fi Defense Used in Filesharing Cases

Wi-Fi Defense Used in Filesharing Cases

Two women from Denmark successfully eschewed conviction using wi-fi defense.  Both claimed they have been piggybacked by unknown users and were not responsible for illegal file sharing. Though they admitted they had p2p software on their computers, they insisted they never committed any acts of illegal p2p sharing.

The court sided with the defendants and ruled they were not accountable for any fines as it could not prove them to have illicitly shared files online. This is not the first time such defense has been used and people facing the same charges may try to employ similar argument to elude legal ramifications.
