Black Hat 2012 was held this year in Las Vegas. The conference aims to bring together the best minds in IT security to look at tomorrows information security requirements and threats. The conference ran from 21st- 26th July.This year Apple was meant to give a talk which was one of the most anticipated talks of the year. The result was a disappointment for many. The speaker- Dallas De Atley gave a talk based almost entirely on a security paper released in May, there was almost no new information provided and the speaker chose to leave the floor before allowing the traditional question and answer session. The talk has been widely seen as nothing more than a vendor pitch by the IT company Apple.
