Robert Delaware, a Volish quality assurance, was fired by Microsoft for laying bare the Xbox 360 defects to VentureBeat. Delaware was dismissed directly by his Microsoft supervisor for his participation in the story. He will most likely be facing civil charges from both VMC, another testing company at which he worked with 360 hardware, and Microsoft as an upshot for his remarks.

Delaware worked as a game tester at  Microsoft but was hired by the temp agency Excell Data. He reported directly to a Microsoft manager, who told him he was terminated due to violations of non-disclosure agreement.

The ex-Microsoft employee reportedly talked about the various problems associated with the launch of the Xbox 360. He revealed the problems with the hardware while he was working as a game tester for VMC. Delaware claimed that Xbox Live updates embedded in retail games could turn working consoles into worthless hulks.

In a phone call on last week,  Delaware candidly said, “I don’t regret it. I’ll fight it. If they want to come after me, bring it on.”
