McAfee to Acquire Secure Computing for $465M

Security firm McAfee has decided to procure network security company Secure Computing at $465 million. The move is aimed to expand McAfee's influence in the network security arena and enhance its security-as-a-service competencies.

The acquisition would boost McAfee's revenues at around $500 million and would most likely make it one of the biggest network security companies worldwide. Secure Computing's TrustedSource technology would also allow McAfee to attend to the necessities of all organizations. TrustedSource enables all product lines with global intelligence capability based on behavioral analysis of traffic patterns from all of company's email, web and firewall devices and hosted services, as well as those of numerous OEM partners.

Secure Computing Corporation is best known for developing and selling  computer security appliances and hosted services that safeguard users and data. The company has also established filtering systems used by governments to block their citizens from accessing information on the Internet.
