Google Acquires Korean Blogging Software Company
Google Inc. has once again expanded its continuously growing empire by buying Tatter and Company, a Korean blogging software developer. The acquisition is designed to help Google boost its market share in the country.Google is trailing Yahoo Inc. in Korea, and the team up is expected broaden the company's portfolio for local markets. Google expressed in an e-mailed statement that the acquisition will "allow them to enhance our publishing tools in Korea."
Currently, Tatter and Company has about 400,000 blog users. This includes 65 out of the top 100 bloggers in Korea. Tatter also owns a blogging platform called "Textube" which Google will try to introduce to bloggers outside Korea.
