Fedora Project Back on Track After Breach
Fedora Project Back on Track After Breach
After weeks of hiatus, Fedora Project is back online and has begun dispensing updates to its Linux distribution. The Red Hat supported project was temporarily stopped due to a breach on its servers. The updates were devised to allow users to switch to a new and secure set of update servers. Through this, users would be able to use a new group of encryption keys to authenticate downloads. An email was also sent to its users stating that updates for Fedora 8 and 9 operating systems will soon be released.
The Fedora Project is the group responsible for creating the Fedora operating system, along with an array of other projects. It is the result of a merger between the Red Hat Linux (RHL) and old Fedora Linux projects in September 2003, and is officially sponsored by Red Hat, which has employees working on the project's code.
