Developers Get First Windows 7 ALpha
Microsoft has announced Windows 7 alpha will be initially distributed to developers attending its Professional Developers Conference (PDC).The company has stayed mum on the details of the new operating system, but PDC's agenda gives us an interesting idea on its features. One example is a session titled "Welcome to the Windows 7 Desktop" which aims to show "exciting enhancements to the taskbar, Start Menu, and other desktop elements."
Microsoft verified it would be giving away 160GB external hard drive comprised of all the topics discussed in the conference to keynote attendees. The conference will take place in Los Angeles convention center on 28 October.
Windows 7 is the purported successor of Windows Vista. The new operating system will be released on June 2009.
