Web Users Impelled to Report Abuse Sites
The Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) is urging web users to help identify websites with lewd contents. The agency is running a campaign against the exploitation of children on the internet. This came subsequently to a research conducted by IWF which concluded that 77 percent of people who spot irregularities on the net do not have any idea how to report them. The organization is currently using banner adverts, email messages, and information messages as tools for educating people how to report sites promoting oscenities.
Illegal contents can now be reported by clicking a big red button on the IWF home page. Individuals can either report anonymously or leave contact details if they wish to follow up on the actions taken against the sites they have reported. The IWF keeps an eye on publicly viewable content and bank on regular internet users to notify them should there be any emerging websites with fostering child sex abuse.
