T-Mobile Renounces Server Breach
Mobile network operator T-Mobile has denied server breach claims of unknown hackers.
T-Mobile investigated the claim and has later found out that the data said to be stolen was from another pilfered document and not from an attack to its servers.
"Regarding the recent claim on a web site, we have identified the document from which information was copied, and believe possession of this alone is not enough to cause harm to our customers," T-Mobile explained.
"At this moment, we are unable to disclose additional information in order to protect the integrity of the investigation, but customers can be assured if there is any evidence that customer information has been compromised, we would inform those affected as quickly as possible."
The security community questioned the truth of the hacking claim because such move is highly unlikely. Most hackers do not display their acts publicly just for money.
