Survey Says Security Spending Drops
A new survey result revealed security budgets have decline despite the considerable increase in malware threats as well as bot-driven spam. The result showed 60 percent of companies have trimmed down thier security spending in 2008.The Deloitte 2009 Global Security Survey was participated by 200 IT security experts, where 32 percent said they have opted to trim down IT security budget. Around 60 percent admitted they lack sophisticated security technologies or they are still trying to cope with the fast rising security standards.
The survey also showed the vague possibility of IT security execs to venture in new technologies when it comes to security. This result is contrary to that of 2007.
As a conclusion, the research detailed how IT security managers in high-tech, media, and telecom are pressured with the "reduced security investment and increased focus on keeping the day-to-day business up and running."
